HTC Unlocking Guide and  FAQ's

What Is Unlocking?

Unlocking your HTC enables you to use your HTC with the network of your choice

When you purchase an HTC either on pay-as-you-go or on a contract, the network carrier includes a SIM card.

Network carriers "lock" your HTC so it works only with their specific SIM card.  The only reason they lock your

HTC to work with there SIM card is to ensure you use their service for an extended period of time.  If you attempt

to use an alternative SIM card in a locked HTC, you will receive error messages, such as SIM Card Not Accepted.

Unlocking your HTC enables you to use it with any SIM card from any GSM network in the world.

Aside from being able to use your HTC with the GSM network of your choice there are many other great benefits

Read about them below

Unlocking Method:

There are two primary methods for mobile phone unlocking.  Via unlock code and via software, the method used to unlock a

handset depends largely on the manufacturer, as well as the carrier. For HTC's it is possible to unlock absolutely all models

via unlock code, which is great for you!

The easiest method of unlocking a handset is by unlock code. This requires a number of details about the handset, including:

These details are used by us to generate your unlocking code,  Which is instantly processed by us after you pay and

then emailed to you along with instructions on how to use it (you will receive the code within 2 -5 minutes)

Once entered into your HTC following our super easy entry instructions, any existing restrictions are removed and you

are free to use your HTC with the network of your choice!

Why Unlock Your HTC?

There are many benefits to unlocking your HTC. Network freedom is the primary reason to unlock, but money savings

and increasing the value of your handset are also great incentives.

Save Money.

Unlocking your HTC allows you to use it's quad band capabilities, allowing you to use your HTC in more places around the world at greater financial savings.  An unlocked HTC allows you to use it with a SIM card from any GSM network.  By opening up your HTC to other networks, you can take advantage of cheaper cellphone rates from locally competing networks at home or while abroad, drastically cutting down on the cost of calls and text messages.

Additional Phone Features.

An unlocked HTC can use a dual SIM adapter. This enables your HTC to accommodate two SIM cards so you don't have to

physically switch from one to another. A mobile phone with dual SIM cards is great for those who frequently travel abroad or who want

to separate work and leisure calls. The majority of these SIM adapters no longer require you to modify your mobile phone, and the process

is as easy as switching your phone off and on again.  You can find many of these adapters in cellphone stores and on ebay.

Increased Resale Value.

If you decide to sell your HTC, you will find that an unlocked one is up to 300% more valuable than a locked one. Offering a handset

that is unlocked and completely free of restrictions will be far more appealing to potential buyers as they will instantly be able to use their existing SIM card or one from their chosen carrier. Simple.  Be assured the unlocking process is a simple and safe one. There is no technical knowledge required, and our user friendly and comprehensive instructions guide you smoothly through the process.

No Risk.

Unlocking your mobile phone is a completely legal process, and there are no risks whatsoever. You no longer need to send your cell phone away for unlocking. Our instructions and unlock code will allow you to unlock your HTC within 30 seconds after receiving your unlock code. Unlocking a phone is simply a process that frees your phone from carrier restraints placed on it by your provider.

There's no reason to have a locked HTC  for a day longer. There are simply too many financial benefits and too much a sense of freedom not to spend a small amount of money to unlock your HTC today.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does unlocking mean?

First, you should understand why phones are locked in the first place. Network providers lock phones so that that you are forced to use

their network at their rates. No other SIM card will work in their phones. You cannot take advantage of better rates from other providers.

A locked phone is subject to roaming charges.  When you unlock your phone, you are free of these restrictions. There is no more restriction placed on the phone by a network carrier.

Are there advantages to unlocking my HTC?

After your HTC is unlocked, you're free to use any network and any SIM card of your choosing.  You can insert and use SIM cards purchased while abroad and take advantage of better rates for calls and SMS messaging.  You no longer have to pay roaming charges,

and you can switch back and forth between carriers/networks. Other advantages are the increased resale value of your phone. Unlocking

is a guaranteed safe procedure for your phone and cannot harm it.

What is a SIM Card?

A SIM stands for a 'subscriber information module'. It is a chip inserted into a GSM handset and allows the phone to work within a given network.  It identifies who you are, knows to send calls to you when your number is dialed and also controls your calling rates according to your contract or pay-as-you go carrier plan.

Is your unlocking guaranteed?

Yes, we 100% Guarantee to Unlock your HTC or your money back!

How do I know if my HTC is locked or not?

That's a simple one. Just borrow a SIM card from a friend that uses a different network than you and try it in your HTC.

If the phone works, your phone is unlocked.  If you get an error message, it means that your phone is locked.

Do I have to unlock my phone every time I change SIM cards?

No. Once unlocked, your phone stays unlocked.

What is an IMEI#?

The IMEI# is your HTC's 15 digit serial #, it is used to generate your unique unlock code.

How do I find my IMEI#?

Your HTC's IMEI# can be found 2 ways

Press *#06# on your keypad  -  Look behind the phone under the battery, the sticker will say the IMEI#

How much technical knowledge do I need to unlock my phone?

None at all. The instructions are easy to follow and simply require that you be able to enter a few numbers on your keypad.

If you can dial a telephone number, you can unlock your HTC!

Can unlocking harm my phone?

No. Unlocking simply removes the network and SIM locks imposed by your network carrier. However, you should check your contract and paperwork to make sure that it doesn't affect your phone's warranty. There is always the possibility that if you enter the wrong code (or a previous owner has tried) too many times that it will permanently lock your phone. We can help if this happens.
